Eat Breakfast Every Day

We've all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But why? Well for starters, it provides the nutritional kick-start we all need to get our engines running. Eating a proper breakfast keeps us more alert through the day, gives us more energy and jump starts our metabolism. Students will perform better in school and adults will perform better at work, be it in the office or raising their family.

Keep in mind that a bowl of Choco Frosted Marshmellow Oats and a donut do not supply the fuel I mentioned above. In fact, that meal will do more harm than good on many levels. On the other hand, a well-balanced breakfast can get you started on the right foot every time. So trade in your toaster pastries for a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal and replace your chocolate milk with some juice and a banana and feel how good it feels to feel good.

Monthly Nutrition Fact:

Onions:

If you dry onions, you will intensify their vitamin characteristics. Once dried, ounce for ounce, dried onions have approximately:
  • 9 times the vitamin C
  • 8 times thiamin
  • 10 times riboflavin
  • 9 times niacin
  • 5 times iron
  • 11 times as much potassium as fresh onions

Onions appear to provide protection against heart disease by lowering LDL and increasing HDL cholesterol levels in the bloodstream.
